Once the Student Arrives in Spain

• Airport Pick-Up: Students will be met at the airport if they have requested or reserved the pick-up service.
• Alternative Arrival: If airport pick-up is not requested, students must communicate their arrival day and time in Gandia. The meeting point is Gandia train station, where pick-up is available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 21:00.
• Welcome Package: Upon arrival in Gandia City, students will receive a welcome package.
• Accommodation Contract: Students will meet with the property manager to sign the accommodation contract. They must keep the original document to apply for a residence card. Parents of underage students are required to sign the contract, and the signed documents must be brought to Spain.
• Room Introduction: After signing the contract, the manager will show students to their rooms, provide the Wi-Fi password, and help them settle in.
• SIM Card: Students will receive assistance in obtaining a SIM card.
• First Day Orientation: On the first day of school, students will meet at the UPV Gandia Campus cafeteria at 9:00 for orientation, be introduced to their teachers, and take a campus tour.
• Residence Card: Assistance will be provided for obtaining the residence card (TIE) for the first year. Students will be responsible for renewing their residence cards in subsequent years.
• Student ID: Students will receive a student ID card from UPV.
• Bank Account: Assistance will be provided to open a bank account once the residence card is received.
• Health Emergency Guidance: Guidance will be provided throughout the year on how to proceed in case of a health emergency.

While students with no prior Spanish proficiency are welcome to join the program at UPV Gandia and Valencia campuses, we highly recommend acquiring some foundational knowledge of the language before starting. This will ensure a smoother transition and enhance your overall experience. Additionally, having a certified minimum level of Spanish can be advantageous for your visa application.
